River Walkham, Bedford Bridge, Dartmoor
BEDFORD BRIDGE HORRABRIDGE DEVON
Down the green stemmed branches I glide,
Coming to rest on these soft banks.
Uncertainty and doubt melt away,
Into the pale unknown songs of future years.
Their melodies open out before me
A lifes landscape sketched tawny white over the waiting fields.
The mossy notes of this river stream
through me,
As the tendrils of my greenwood heart
reach out to the open sky.
Down the green stemmed branches I glide,
Coming to rest on these soft banks.
Uncertainty and doubt melt away,
Into the pale unknown songs of future years.
Their melodies open out before me
A lifes landscape sketched tawny white over the waiting fields.
The mossy notes of this river stream
through me,
As the tendrils of my greenwood heart
reach out to the open sky.
